MESSAGE FROM YOUR MAYOR

Greetings all –

We hope you are having a relaxing summer and were able to enjoy Summerfest Weekend (July 10-12). The Summerfest Committee worked hard throughout the year and met with much success as our park was filled with new and returning vendors, musical entertainment as well as the 5K run/walk, parade, fireworks, car show and the Fire Department’s sponsored chicken barbeque. Save the dates for next year’s Summerfest, scheduled for July 9-11, 2027.

The pickleball courts are up and ready for use thanks to our DPW staff and it’s wonderful to see so many of our village residents already utilizing it. Fencing will be coming soon! And there is still quite a bit of mulch up at our “Brush Drop” area (corner of Oak Hill and Lisman Lane) for village residents; come and get it while it lasts!

We are also looking for members of the community who are interested in volunteering to help shape our first Winter Carnival. If you are interested, please give us a call (607-295-7346) or you can email us at: clerk@villageofarkport.com or mayor@villageofarkport.com and we’ll be in touch with possible dates and times for the first meeting.

Our Village Board meetings are open to the public and are held the third Tuesdays every month at 7:00 pm here in the Community room. All are welcome!

We wish you all the best in the remaining days of summer!

Your mayor, Carson Doorley.
